The Society of Gynecologic Oncology (SGO) and American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) recommend the process of molecular evaluation of patients at risk for Lynch syndrome as follows: molecular tumor screening with immunohistochemistry for MMR genes expression and/or microsatellite instability followed by germline genetic testing if the screening test is positive (Randall et al., 2017). Here, MRC1 is linked to Lynch syndrome.
