Several factors have been associated with the risk of developing OC, e.g., endometriosis, family history, inherited genetic aberrations, etc.; particularly, 39–44% of women who inherited a pathogenic mutation in Breast Cancer 1 (BRCA1) and 11–17% of women with a pathogenic mutation in Breast Cancer 2 (BRCA2) will develop OC by 70–80 years of age (5, 6). The gene discussed is BRCA1; the disease is endometriosis.
