Dysregulation of the NLRP3 inflammasome activation has been demonstrated to associate with development and progression of various diseases including Alzheimer’s disease (Tan et al., 2013), sepsis (Danielski et al., 2020), gouty (Yang et al., 2018), Inflammatory Bowel disease (Mao et al., 2018), and systemic lupus erythematosus (Tan et al., 2019), etc. Hence, the NLRP3 inflammasome has been considered a promising target for the treatment of many diseases associated with inflammation. This evidence concerns the gene NLRP3 and systemic lupus erythematosus.
