IGHE and asthma: In our limited experience only a relatively small proportion of people with asthma are sensitised to Mucorales compared to A. fumigatus by skin prick test, with more individuals sensitised to Mucor than Rhizopus, with the majority co-sensitised with a larger wheal to A. fumigatus. Lastly, occasionally specific IgE to one or more of the commercially available allergenic components of A. fumigatus (Asp f 1–4/6) is positive when the IgE to the extract is below the 0.35 IU/L threshold.
