TGFB1 and Marfan syndrome: Treatment with losartan, an angiotensin II (AngII) receptor type 1 (ATR1) blocker (ARB) with unique anti‐TGF‐β effects, resulted in decreased rate of aortic root dilation in a rodent model of MFS and in a small scale trial in MFS patients refractory to atenolol (Brooke et al., 2008; Habashi, 2006).
