In the subgroup analyses of clinically relevant groups, the association between serum adiponectin level and high PCS was similar across all subgroups with no significant interactions between sex (female vs. male), age (< 55 vs. ≥ 55 years), BMI (< 23.5 vs. ≥ 23.5 kg/m2), diabetes (no vs. yes), proteinuria (< 1.0 vs. ≥ 1.0 g/day), and CRP (< 0.5 vs. ≥ 0.5 mg/dL). The gene discussed is CRP; the disease is diabetes mellitus.
