Latent infection genes include six EBV-encoded nuclear antigens (EBNA-1, -2, -LP [leader protein], -3A, -3B, and -3C), two latent membrane proteins (LMP-1 and -2), two small noncoding RNAs (EBER-1 and -2), Bam-HI A rightward transcripts (BARTs) and Bam-HI H leftward reading frame (BHLF), which are produced during latent infection to stimulate host cell proliferation [7, 9]. The gene discussed is PDLIM7; the disease is disease arising from reactivation of latent virus.
