Therefore, we compared CD69+CD103+ cells (hypoxia + TGF-β1) with CD69+CD103– cells (hypoxia alone) or CD69–CD103– cells (normal culture conditions) and observed enrichment of the CD8+CD69+CD103+ human breast cancer TIL signature reported by Savas et al. (Figure 3A, Supplemental Figure 3, and ref. 41). The gene discussed is ITGAE; the disease is breast carcinoma.
