Biochemical analysis showed that PD patients had lower total cholesterol levels (4.8 mmol/L [SD 0.9] vs. 5.2 mmol/L [SD 1.1], p = 0.014), lower high density lipoprotein (HDL) levels (1.4 mmol/L [SD 0.4] vs. 1.6 mmol/L [SD 0.4], p = 0.033), and lower albumin levels (38.7 mmol/L [SD 3.5] vs. 39.8 mmol/L [SD 3.1], p = 0.023), although all measures were still within normal physiological ranges. Here, ALB is linked to Parkinson disease.
