To further understand the pharmacological action of beta-elemene in attenuating the malignancy of NSCLC cells, we examined how beta-elemene treatment could modulate the levels of Cyclin D1, c-Myc, COX2, MMP2, MMP9, VEGF and PTEN as well as Notch1 mRNA transcripts and protein expression in different groups of NSCLC cells. This evidence concerns the gene PTEN and non-small cell lung carcinoma.
