FA2H and cardiovascular disorder: The 2’‐hydroxylation of the fatty acid precursor of the amide acyl chain of sphingolipids is catalyzed by the peroxisomal enzyme fatty acid 2‐hydroxylase (FA2H).[32] 2’‐OH ceramides had been largely ignored in cardiovascular diseases, and further studies are warranted to investigate the biological mechanisms of ceramide hydroxylation in RA.
