Tetramethylpyrazine holds the capacity of up-regulating the expression level of BDNF to potentiate neurogenesis (Wu et al., 2019) and suppress dendritic spine degeneration (Dong et al., 2018) and local neuroinflammation (Wu et al., 2020), suggesting that its receptor and downstream co-effectors might be involved in TMP improving BPSD in rats with BCCAO/CRS. Here, BDNF is linked to congenital rubella syndrome.
