The observations regarding the protein and mRNA levels of the CX3CL1–CX3CR1 dyad were unrelated to such contributory factors as body mass index, serum C-reactive protein release, alcohol consumption, prescribed antidepressants or mood stabilizers, death by suicide and a subtype of schizophrenia (undifferentiated or paranoid). This evidence concerns the gene CX3CR1 and schizophrenia.
