LEP and Alzheimer disease: At the beginning of the experiment, food consumption recorded in the previous 21 days was higher in 3xTg-AD compared to NonTg mice (average of 4.7 g/day/mice for 3xTg-AD versus 3.9 g/day/mice for NonTg mice; unpaired t-test with Welch’s correction: p = 0.0105) (Fig. 1d and e for AUC statistical comparison), consistent with lower plasmatic leptin in fasted 3xTg-AD mice compared to NonTg (Fig. 1f).
