The surface phenotype of prostate cancer samples was accessed using the basic 5-color antigen panel reported previously for the description of the prostate cancer and non-cancer cell lines [12] that included CD44 (marker of basal cells), CD57 (marker of luminal cells), CD24 (marker of differentiating cells), CD90 and CD133 (stromal markers). This evidence concerns the gene PROM1 and prostate carcinoma.
