Some miRNAs have been recently proposed as biomarkers for various NDDs such PD and other conditions affecting the central nervous system22, 23, 51,52 Here, miR‐193b has been selected to be studied in 3 neurodegenerative conditions as a potential regulator of PGC‐1α/FNDC5/BDNF pathway, based on in silico studies as well as literature mining, indicating the aberrant expression of miR‐193b in various neurological disorders comprising amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS)53, multiple sclerosis (MS)54, Huntington's disease (HD)21 and AD.51 The gene discussed is FNDC5; the disease is Alzheimer disease.
