Importantly we found also a modulation of genes involved in Epithelial to Mesenchymal Transition including TMPRSS4, that is upregulated in gastric cancer and increased the invasiveness of gastric cancer cells activating NF-Kb/MMP9 signaling (31), and Claudins (CLDN1, CLDN3, CLDN4, CLDN7), overexpressed in gastric cancer and associated with gastric cancer cell proliferation, invasion and maintenance of mesenchymal state (32–34). This evidence concerns the gene NFKB1 and gastric cancer.
