As expected, we found that the two types of gastric cancer (Subset AB) showed similar features regarding the modulation of genes involved in cell cycle, mitosis, cell division, DNA replication, extracellular matrix, as well as in the regulation of inflammation (IL-18, Chemokines, Cytokines, IL6 signaling pathways), or in cancer development and progression (PI3K-Akt-mTOR, VEGFA-VEGFR2, MAPK, Ras, EGF/EGFR signaling pathways), which differentiate both histotypes from healthy mucosa (see Supplementary Tables 1–3). This evidence concerns the gene EGFR and gastric cancer.
