The CGRP receptor consists of three subunits: receptor activity-modifying protein 1 (RAMP-1), calcitonin-like receptor (CLR) and receptor component protein (RCP), which is widely expressed in the cardiovascular system where it is supposed to exert protective functions, as well as in different areas of the nervous system and has been related to migraine (116). The gene discussed is RAMP1; the disease is migraine disorder.
