CEA and HE4 mRNAs showed a relatively greater value, because: (1) their expression were significantly correlated to each other both before and after chemotherapy, (2) the expression of CEA mRNA before chemotherapy had the most significant correlation with tumor stage (r = 0.594, p = 0.000), while, after chemotherapy, its expression was significantly decreased and showed correlation with CA125 antigen, and (3) HE4 mRNA showed the highest sensitivity both before and after chemotherapy and the persistence of this marker was associated with advanced stages of the disease. Here, CEACAM5 is linked to neoplasm.
