Given that G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) mediate the cellular response to most hormones/neurotransmitters (de Oliveira et al., 2019; Thathiah and De Strooper, 2011), it is unsurprising that GPCR-related genes converge on normal aging (GNA15) and Alzheimer’s disease (GNAS, GNB5). This evidence concerns the gene GNA15 and early-onset autosomal dominant Alzheimer disease.
