Down-regulation of DSP and E-cadherin was induced in prostate cancer cell line PC3, in response to upregulation in microRNA (331-3p) that concurrently upregulated EMT markers, such as N-cadherin, vimentin and Snail, suggesting that DSP loss occurs with the initiation of an EMT process in transformed cells [57]. This evidence concerns the gene DSP and Familial prostate cancer.
