Although the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) proved that recombinant tissue plasminogen activator (tPA) is applied for the recanalization of the blocked blood vessels in the treatment of ischemic stroke, the therapeutic window of effective tPA-mediated thrombolysis is short (4.5 h), and 80% of patients experience serious sequelae or even death because optimal thrombolytic therapies are lacking [3–5].
