It is known that TP53 is an outstanding tumor suppressor gene with the capacity to induce apoptosis and has a strong connection with ferroptosis as shown by a number of studies (31, 50–52) while FSP1 is viewed as a p53-inducible gene and a downregulated effector downstream of p53 in tumors (43, 53).
