More recently, B7-H3 was found to be overexpressed on tumor-associated vasculature and stromal fibroblasts in several cancer types, including pancreatic cancer (30–33), which suggests that B7-H3-directed antibodies or CAR-T cells may be able to target not only cancer cells, but also tumor stroma and vasculature, both of which can have tumor-promoting functions (34, 35). This evidence concerns the gene CD276 and familial pancreatic carcinoma.
