Finally, to further explore the potential value of targeting SREBP2-dependent cholesterol biosynthesis pathway in treating liver metastasis of CRC, we used Betulin 31, a specific small-molecule inhibitor of SREBP, and Simvastatin, an inhibitor of HMGCR which is the rate-limiting enzyme in cholesterol biosynthesis, to intervene the SREBP2-dependent cholesterol biosynthesis pathway. Here, SREBF2 is linked to colorectal carcinoma.
