Recent studies have reported that lenvatinib inhibited tumor growth and induced apoptosis in anaplastic thyroid cancer in vitro and in vivo by suppressing the expression of epidermal growth factor receptor, AKT, extracellular signal-regulated kinase 1/2 and VEGF-A 9. Here, AKT1 is linked to thyroid gland undifferentiated (anaplastic) carcinoma.
