Interestingly, in contrast to the 100-fold difference in IP-10 production after infection of 1205Lu wt cells with VSV wt P0 and VSV M51R, in the RNA transfer assay that relies purely on the transfer of RNA and excludes effects of the VSV-M protein, RNA derived after infection with VSV wt induces similar amounts of IP-10 as RNA-derived after infection with the M51R mutant (see Supplementary Figures S1, S6 and S7E). This evidence concerns the gene CXCL10 and infection.
