Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is an age-related and neurodegenerative disorder characterized by β-amyloid plaques and tau neurofibrillary tangle formation (Serrano-Pozo et al., 2011; Martins et al., 2018) with a progressive decline in cognitive functions (Querfurth and Laferla, 2010; Serrano-Pozo et al., 2011). This evidence concerns the gene MAPT and Alzheimer disease.
