CYP2C9 and idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis: The production of 11,12-EET by CYP2C9 in endothelial cells induces the expression of COX-238, and the COX-2-PGE2 axis exerts an antifibrotic effect by promoting the survival of epithelial cells and the death of fibroblasts/myofibroblasts in IPF3, suggesting that CYP2C9 may be involved in the pathogenesis of IPF.
