Pathway analysis for CACNA1A and PRDM16, the two genes suggestively associated with tea consumption, showed enrichment for white Adipose tissue browning (P = 3.2 × 10−5), nNOS signalling in skeletal muscle cells (P = 3.6 × 10−3) and Maturity onset diabetes of young (MODY) (P = 5.2 × 10−3) (Supplementary Table 13). The gene discussed is NOS1; the disease is type 2 diabetes mellitus.
