Although there is a growing scientific interest in the role of endolysosomal Ca2+ channels in immunity, there is a paucity of studies that categorize these channels clinically. Recently, a genome-wide association study in the Han Chinese population identified TPCN2 as one of four gene signatures attributed to systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) susceptibility, which is characterized as a chronic autoimmune disease (14). This evidence concerns the gene TPCN2 and systemic lupus erythematosus.
