The results of that study showed that hsa-miR-424-5p mimic group had the highest expression of hsa-miR-424-5p in lymphocytes and hsa-miR-424-5p linked to programmed cell death 1 signalling (PD-1), which stimulated the immune response through the mechanistic target of rapamycin kinase signalling pathway (mTORC) and therefore participated in the pathogenesis of T1DM [44]. This evidence concerns the gene PDCD1 and type 1 diabetes mellitus.
