As to a primary role of CYP2E1, several studies have reported that CYP2E1∗5, which is one of the CYP2E1 variant alleles caused by single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNP) at rs2031920 of CYP2E1 gene [14], was involved in a lower risk of ATDILI in TB patients [8, 15, 16], due to its lower metabolizing activity than wild type allele or ∗1A [17]. This evidence concerns the gene CYP2E1 and tuberculosis.
