Genetic aberrations in FGFR4 are prevalent among various types of cancer like breast cancer, pancreatic cancer, and especially hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) (Figure 1), and these aberrations are associated with poor prognoses (Shah et al., 2002; Sawey et al., 2011; Jain and Turner, 2012). This evidence concerns the gene FGFR4 and breast cancer.
