Analysis of blister fluids from carbamazepine, phenytoin, and amoxicillin-induced SJS/TEN in Han Chinese has pointed out that a high expression of granulysin secreted by CTLs and NK cells is the key molecule responsible for the disseminated keratinocyte death in SJS/TEN (Chung et al., 2008). The gene discussed is GNLY; the disease is Schwartz-Jampel syndrome.
