The results further showed high serum ApoJ concentration in patients with metabolic steatosis and HFD-induced steatosis mice, and positive correlations between serum ApoJ and atherogenic lipid profiles (Fig. 6c, d, f, g); this suggests that ApoJ-induced CE production might supply not only intracellular lipid overloads but also secretory lipoproteins acting as vesicles of ApoJ delivery into the bloodstream. This evidence concerns the gene CLU and steatosis.
