Recently, colonic organoids derived from patients with familial adenomatous polyposis (FAP) were used to test potential anticancer activity of XAV939, rapamycin and geneticin, and it was seen that geneticin specifically inhibited the growth of APC-mutant FAP-colonic organoids (Crespo et al. 2017). The gene discussed is FAP; the disease is Familial adenomatous polyposis.
