The evidence available to date suggests the incidence of skin toxicity does not differ between the anti-EGFR treatments of Vectibix and cetuximab with recent data showing no difference for any grade of skin toxicity between the two drugs (89.7% vs. 87.8%, respectively) or between that of a grade 3 or higher skin reactions (13.6% vs. 9.6% (p=0.259), respectively) [35]. The gene discussed is EGFR; the disease is dermatological toxicity.
