Similarly, carrying the ε4 variant of ApoE is a risk factor for Alzheimer’s disease and this variant seems to be more frequently associated with increased risks for poorer functional status ([3]; see Supplementary table for specific relationsof the APOE-ε4 with cognitive activities) and reduced cognitive performance ([24, 44] cited by [175]). Here, APOE is linked to early-onset autosomal dominant Alzheimer disease.
