The interaction of genotypes of apolipoprotein E (APOE), a risk factor for AD involved in cholesterol metabolism, with statins’ pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics has been largely investigated,24, 25, 26 indicating a significant effect of the genetic polymorphisms on treatment responses in term of plasma lipid profile27, 28 and a strong association with the risk and the course of coronary heart diseases.29, 30.
