HLA-B and COVID-19: HLA-A*11:01:01:01 [Pc = 0.022, OR = 2.57 (1.29–5.09)] carrier was significantly associated with increased severity of COVID-19 patients, while due to the smaller effect size, HLA-C*12:02:02:01 [P = 0.067, OR = 1.76 (0.90–3.36)] and HLA-B*52:01:01:02 [P = 0.067, OR = 1.76 (0.90–3.36)] showed lower significance in comparison to the 53 sCOVID-19 patients and 423 Japanese healthy controls (Table 1).
