Sahlmann et al. (2013) reported that SBM can cause DI enteritis at the tissue level in Atlantic salmon, and increase the expression of immune-related genes, including the GTPase IMAP family, NF-κB signaling pathway, IL8 signaling pathway, and regulatory factors of T cell and B cell, and then downregulate transcripts related to endocytosis, exocytosis, detoxification, transportation, and metabolism. Here, CXCL8 is linked to dentinogenesis imperfecta.
