These findings of increased levels of IFN-γ, TNF-α, and IL-2 (Figure 3) in the granuloma supernatants, alongside the findings that in vitro everolimus in combination with L-GSH supplementation was able to further decrease intracellular BCG viability (Figure 2) demonstrates the efficacy of using of everolimus in combination with L-GSH supplementation to enhance the control of a BCG infection within in vitro granulomas of individuals with T2DM.
