STAT3 and non-small cell lung carcinoma: Stat3 is considered to play a tumor-promoting role in NSCLC; for example, a Stat3 inhibitor significantly suppresses the growth of NSCLC tumors by promoting apoptosis and reducing angiogenesis and cell proliferation (Weerasinghe et al., 2007), and miR-98-5p promotes apoptosis and inhibits the migration of A549 cells by downregulating Stat3 expression (Liu et al., 2018).
