Recent studies show that miR-487a is upregulated in several types of tumor cells to regulate genes involved in tumor progression, including sprouty-related EVH1 domain containing two (Chang et al., 2017), phosphoinositide-3-kinase regulatory subunit 1 (Chang et al., 2017), breast cancer resistance protein (Ma et al., 2013), and membrane-associated guanylate kinase inverted 2 (Ma et al., 2016).
