Treatment of the human small-cell lung carcinoma cell line, QG90, with HA was reported to strongly promote MMP2 secretion while expression of antisense CD44s in QG90 cells or pretreatment of cells with the neutralizing anti-CD44 antibody, blocked the HA-dependent secretion of MMP2, highlighting the important role of HA-CD44 signaling in HA-dependent MMP2 secretion90. This evidence concerns the gene MMP2 and small cell lung carcinoma.
