Similarly, a meta-analysis of HPV and p16 status of all HNSCC subtypes found that the 5-year OS of patients with p16-positive/HPV-negative HNSCC was shorter than that of those with p16-positive/HPV-positive [17], while patients with p16-negative/HPV-positive or p16-negative/HPV-negative HNSCC experienced the shortest OS [17].
