AKT1 and neoplasm: In the GO term enrichment analysis, the DEGs were importantly connected with the terms ‘ECM organization,’ ‘extracellular region’ and ‘heparin binding.’ KEGG pathway analysis indicated that the roles of the DEGs were enriched in ‘ECM-receptor interaction,’ ‘drug metabolism-cytochrome P450,’ ‘focal adhesion,’ ‘PI3K-Akt signalling pathway’ and ‘complement and coagulation cascades.’ The ECM is a sophisticated and dynamic molecular network that surrounds tumour cells and plays vial functions in tumour progression and metastasis (Kim et al., 2016; Xu, Zhang & Zhao, 2017).
