DHX9 and cancer: We recently reported that knockdown of certain members of RNA helicases, including DHX9, in permissive, semipermissive, or nonpermissive human cancer cell lines enhanced MYXV replication and progeny virus formation in many members of each cell class, suggesting that cellular helicases such as DHX9 can act as viral restriction factors for MYXV in some, but not all, human cancer cells (11).
