The lifetime risk of breast cancer in the female UK population is 12% and the risk of developing breast cancer in the next 10 years if aged 50 is 3.54% whereas the risk of breast cancer by age 60 is approximately 30% in POLD1 and 20% in POLE ED pathogenic variant heterozygotes included in our analysis (Supplementary Figure S4).
